So Bo Bross only needed to earn $100 000, sell a masterpiece and max his interest in culture.
I Finished it all today. Also I tested the maternity hack where pregnant sims can wear custom clothes. It worked for me. Yay! The catch is to use a MAXIS dresser and no custom ones, nor recolours.
Ok, back to the topic (lol). So my original plan was for Bo to buy a community lot. He bought Little n’ Local that came with OFB in Bluewater Village.

Penny Dollar is the Target Sim.

I finished this challenge for the *second* time today. Second because I had to reinstall my game a few days ago.
Honestly, the first time, I tried not to cheat. Poor sim worked her but off trying to earn all those badges.
The second time round I cheated… a lot. I used the Badge Juicer to get silver badges in everything, then used the hacked computer to *study* them all to gold.

Funny thing happened though. I was also trying to test the maternity wear hack – where pregnant sims can wear maternity wear other than the MAXIS ones. So the target sim from the Slack Traveler challenge, Easton West rocks up as the welcoming committee. I use the Tombstone of L and D to make Penny pregnant with his child. Needless to say, I was missing the integral part of the hack… the actual hack/file thing. Face palm! I forgot to put it in my downloads folder. So Penny gave birth to Cents, and he aged to a toddler. While dialing for the exterminator, I accidentally click on Adoption. Then in a hurry I click OK. Poor Jonathan arrived all too soon as a toddler.
I hate playing with the sim children – they freak me out. But this was the first time I saw the animation where 2 toddlers fight over a bottle. It was too cute.

Just for the fun if it, Penny built a Servo: SÜm-1. He in turn built a female friend: Sím(one)°. (Someone and Simone) Anyway, the 2 Servo’s moved out and are looking for a new home.
Penny completed the challenge by getting all Gold badges.

If you don’t cheat, then the most challenging badge to develop is the beauty (cosmetology) one. [The first time I finished the challenge] Penny had learned all of the badges except the cosmetology. I got her to hire a cashier and someone to restock the shelves. Then Penny gave everyone free makeover until they started coming to the chair willing pay for it. Eventually she struck gold. I also had to turn off ageing, just in case it took too long.

Bo Bross is the target sim.

This is a pretty straight forward challenge. The hard part would be to earn $100 000. Motherlode won’t work since the sim won’t have the memory; if he marries a rich sim, he still won’t have the memory; if he moves in sims and they have jobs, he won’t have the memory… unless they work in his business – HE has to be the owner.

I cheated to max out the creativity skill. Used the sim modder to max the skill, then downed 1 so that he only has to earn 1 skill point to get the memory. I replaced some of the arches in his home with doors, so that they are lockable. He now lives upstairs in one of the en-suite rooms and has sole access to the kitchen/study. I moved all the paintings in the house to the open area where sims can buy them.

He started a home business as a gallery AND a venue. There’s already a gym, telescope, chess table. As he earned money I added a pool table, radio and hot spring (BV). The entrance is set to average, but every time another activity is added, I reset it. So the sales aren’t that good (at expensive), but he built up his sales skill to gold (only silver was needed). While the customers roam around he works on a still life painting. This got him to max out his creativity skill. He sold the painting, but it wasn’t a masterpiece. He’s working on another still life now.

All I still have to do is max his interest in culture and earn $100 000. I thought about how to go about this.

  • He can get a high paying job (like military) and hope to get bonus chance cards.
  • He can counterfeit money; however this takes long and there’s always the risk of getting caught.
  • He can continue his home venue/gallery business, but that will also take too long.

I decided to combine these and make him get a high paying job… just in case. Also he will buy a small shop, build up a lot of customer loyalty, then sell said shop for huge profit. Buy the same shop, or another one. Repeat until he has achieved the objective. I have the 1×1 lots from MTS2, so the shop won’t be too expensive. He’ll eventually run a newsstand where other sims in the challenge neighbourhood can buy magazines to read.
