John David Anderson is the target sim.

The wizard says that I need to complete 3 more objectives… though I know for a fact that I only still have 1 left: The first kiss. The other two (that the wizard says are incomplete) are both related to Christy. Maybe I got her name wrong when I created the family. I’ll check on that later tonight. If her name IS wrong – easy peasy – I’ll just get Jonathan (the dad) and their new step-mom to try for a baby, and rename the child the correct name. If, however, the name already is correct, I’ll have to move John David to University and play him until adult. You see, Christy is already a teen, so teen-John David can’t teach her to study now, only as an adult. (Although he DID teach her to study when she was a child and he was a teen.)The only tricky one will be the whole Best Friends objective. Since I remember checking his memories and seeing that he had those 2 already.

Enough of that, the reason for this quickie update: I finally got a genie lamp!! I thought you had to max out all your hobby enthusiasm or some dreadfully difficult thing like that. The Anderson family is 2 adults, 2 teens and 2 dogs. None of the sims have maxed out any enthusiasm for any hobby, however, they all have 2 or three hobbies that they continually do and thus maintain a high’ish enthusiasm for. Mostly it’s cooking (by far the easiest), dancing and gaming; Christy and Jonathan share their arts and crafts hobby as well.
So I was busy planning a field day for them to visit 3 secret hobby locations that between the 4 of them they’ll have access to. John David’s aspiration was really low and I didn’t want him to go into failure. (I feel sorry for my target sims sometimes ;-) ) And he desperately wanted to win a cooking contest – he did. Jonathan also wanted to enter, but he cheated. He used a pie that he bought from a bakery (Ann Chovie’s).
But John David’s aspiration was still too low for my liking. So off they went to the gaming lot, because John David had a want to win a gaming competition. He lost 3 times in a row; twice to his own sister. He’ll be clicking away against his dad, then Christy joins and within 5 minutes she wins the competition.
Christy wanted to win a dancing competition, so we went off to the dancing lot. I don’t know how many times you can enter; I only managed once. John David and Christy both have scholarships for dancing, so I thought it would be another sibling showdown like with the gaming. Nope. The wildcard won – some townie who did the funny dance that everybody giggles at when they have really low dancing skills. That contest was fixed I tell you.

Back home I notice this lamp lying on the ground. Racking my brains I vaguely remember canceling a few popups about it being a snow-day and both the adults having the day off as well…and the gypsy’s face on one of them. She must have dropped it off earlier, but I only noticed it when the Anderson’s returned home.
Immediately I let John David wish for money. The first bag of gold was §10 000!! And it generated the memory too! He was working so hard at his little pet accessories shop, but just could not earn money fast enough. Now he doesn’t have to.
Now all I have to sort out the issue with the Christy objectives.

A Boy Needs a Dog – Playing! Monday, 9 June 2008

John David Anderson is the target sim.

For some strange reason, my game corrupted this family – and ONLY this family. Maybe the person who wrote the challenge corrupted it – I dunno. Point is that none of the sims’ names were sorrect. John david was Tosha Go. Go figure ;-)

So I created a new Anderson family in CAS. I couldn’t remember what the Dad’s names should have been, so I just named him Jonathan. Christy had to be Christy, since she was part of a few of the objectives.
Boy was this hard for me. Usually by the time my sims have babies they already have a steady job and some skills, but for me this family started at ground zero. I rewarded myself by using maxmotives only twice – on a Tuesday, and that same Saturday. By then Dad could cook a decent meal and there were enough leftovers in the fridge so John David didn’t have to live on juice while Day slept. Jonathan has a LTW to reach the top of the music career ladder. It took more than 7 sim days for that job to become available on either computer or the newspaper. In the meantime he got a job as a Test Subject, but was fired ‘cause he chose the wrong coloured liquorice.
Christy grew up to a child, but she wasn’t potty trained and couldn’t walk – at least she could talk, but she was in platinum when she aged, so the transition wasn’t so bad.
Dad Jonathan was just too busy with working and paying for a Nanny and a Maid that I moved a towny in with him. She’s earns a good enough salary for them to cope with the bills while Jonathan waits by the computer for his big break. She brought §13 000 when she moved in. Off to the petshop they went and John David got himself 2 dogs, Prissy and Rover.
James David aged to a teen – poor thing was wearing a ballet outfit… Thank you Eaxis for making teenage years even more awkward.
I’m sort of ignoring the adults in the house now. They’ve got freewill, so now I’m focussing in John David building good relationships with his dogs and sister. One of the objectives is that John David teaches Christy how to study. He can only do this as a teen. So even though Christy had had a want to ask for help with homework for a few days now, I had to wait until John David was old enough. John David also has a lemonade stand, but so far had only 2 real customers, the other ones were family who bought it from him ;-)

I made John David a fortune sim, since it’s easier to keep them in platinum mood.
